BORO

A piece imbued with a rich history, born from countless repairs and years of use.

One side features delicate sashiko stitching over a faded, natural-colored fabric. The different fabrics and colors peeking through the worn areas create a layered, almost geological depth. The repeated mending, seemingly done to preserve the fabric, evokes a sense of abstract art despite being a purely functional handiwork.

The other side features a striking lattice pattern based on deep purple, crimson, and ink black. Countless sashiko stitches overlap the orderly lattice structure, exuding a powerful presence even after many years. Even the wear and tear at the hem quietly tells the story of the fabric's history.

Each side possesses a different charm, making it a beautiful piece no matter which side you choose. Enjoy its changing appearance to suit your mood or the space.

Countless stitches, repaired fabric pieces, and worn edges. The layers of time nurtured within the lives of nameless people manifest themselves as a quiet landscape. Whether hung on a wall or laid out, this antique fabric adds depth to any space simply by its presence.
