A rattan sofa made by Yamakawa Rattan, designed by Isamu Kenmochi. Around the 1960s.
It is believed to be from the early days of production. The color of the rattan has faded over time.

This rattan chair was designed in 1960 by Isamu Kenmochi for Hotel New Japan, a pioneer of modern hotels. To create this beautiful curved shape, advanced techniques based on many years of experience are required. It was manufactured by Yamakawa Rattan, a long-established Japanese rattan manufacturer.

The rattan on this chair is broken in only one place. However, there is no other major damage, and it is in very good condition considering how old it was.
This chair is a very old and delicate work of art.
Of course, it is strong enough to sit on, but as it is an old product, please handle it with care.
Thank you.
