This chest of drawers is one of a set of three that were used in the same old Japanese house.
Judging by its current condition, it appears to be quite old.
While preserving its original texture, insect holes and the sliding door have been repaired.
It is now in perfect condition for use.
This exquisite piece evokes the spirit of "wabi-sabi," the Japanese philosophy that finds beauty in imperfection and impermanence.
The polar opposite of vulgarity, beauty found in modesty, unconventional beauty.
An extremely rare, one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Since ancient times, people have crafted the tools they needed from familiar materials to survive in the harsh battle with nature, passing them down through generations and fostering their lives and culture.
These tools develop a unique patina over the years of use, reflecting the lives of the people who lived there.
The harsher the natural environment and the weaker the people, the stronger their power becomes.
In a world where cheap, disposable products are the norm, the act of repeatedly improving and remaking everyday items opens up new horizons.
With this in mind, we have carefully selected beautiful, powerful, and one-of-a-kind Japanese antiques.
