The Elephant Stool was designed by Sori Yanagi in 1954. This stool, which was released in 1956 with FRP material, which was rare at the time, was used in the pavilion at the 1970 Osaka Expo. Since then, it is a legendary stool that has received high acclaim both at home and abroad as a masterpiece representing Japanese industrial design. Sori Yanagi was fascinated by the adaptability and stability of FRP, a novel material introduced into furniture design by Charles and Ray Eames, and incorporated it into the Elephant Stool. This stool was made by "KOTOBUKI", which manufactured the original in the early days, and has its logo mark.
